MODEL PROPOSAL FOR TOTAL PRODUCTIVITY MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATIONIN A SMALL AND MEDIUM MANUFACTURING ORGANISATION

Print
The question of total productivity measurement in SMEs is still not realised in a complex form. The methods of productivity measurement and performance evaluation used lie in partial productivity ratios or main economic indicators only. Because of that, this paper deals with the proposal of a methodology and a model for productivity measurement and performance evaluation in a manufacturing organisation of small and medium size. The main focus of the paper is on the core of a transformation process and analyses the individual production steps in detail. Except the flow of material throughout the system, the work is capable of cost analysis, which evaluates a manufacturing company’s performance within a present period of time or the comparison of individual activities over time. The essential part of this productivity measurement and evaluation tool is a benchmarking module that creates the conditions for the comparison of internal and external productivity and performance ratios with company’s benchmarks.
