LEVELS OF INNOVATION OF BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Print
The main scope of this article deals with business information system and their innovation. On the base of analogy manufacturing technology and with using of methodology ITIL and CobiT is suggest way of evaluation and innovation of the business information systems for each of their partial areas. These areas are functionality of information system, SW decision support, data, controlling of IT, processes in IT, peoples in IT, information and communication technology. There is a rule being defined for each innovation area in a seven-step scale, and with this approach the innovation can be reached for each single area and in different levels. Innovation levels are part of suggested methodology, which offers evaluation and innovation of business information system.

A DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR SELECTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ERP IN PROJECT DRIVEN ENTERPRISE

Print
The paper presents a concept of decision support system dedicated to selection and implementation of enterprise resource planning system for small and medium manufacturing enterprises that makes engineer-to-order production. The support system enables us to improve the selection process of the ERP solution, as well as to evaluate the productivity of the implementation and calculate Total Cost of Ownership. The concept of the support system is based on both a proposed model of the project, driven enterprise and a determined structure of business processes. The model of the enterprise is closely related to the structure of the ERP system. In this paper the most important performance indices of the system are proposed which decide about the implementation success of ERP. Especially, the evaluations of ERP implementation are taken into consideration based on the proposed indices that enable us to determine the productivity of ERP in a company. The illustrative examples are given.

ERP SYSTEMS IMPLEMENTATION EFFICIENCY MODELING IN SMALL AND MEDIUM SIZE ENTERPRISES (SMEs)

Print
An original method of ERP in SME implementation efficiency assessment (EWE) is developed. It consists of 5 elements, that is: (1) ERP system parameters, (2) SME company parameters, (3) an SME experience which proceeded the ERP project, (4) functionality indicators values, (5) an algorithm that enables ERP and SME characteristics binding – a GMDH algorithm. The application of this method allows predicting economical effects as far as the implementation of ERP is concerned, taking into consideration efficiency indicators in the analyzed company. On the basis of the EWE method, a decision model for ERP efficiency implementation has been developed.

MANAGERIAL TOOLS FOR PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT

Print
Managerial performance evaluation styles continue to be an important area of management accounting research and practice. Traditional performance measurement systems are mostly based on traditional financial evaluation but it is necessary to focus on non-financial identifications as well. The aim of this article is to design a new approach to performance measurement system classification for small and medium sized industrial companies.

CONSTRAINT-BASED SCHEDULING IN OZ/MOZART

Print
In this paper we present how scheduling problems can be solved in the concurrent constraint programming (CCP) language Oz. Oz is the first highlevel constraint language, which offers programmable search, modularity, expressiveness and an interface to invent new constraints using C++. As an example of scheduling problem the job-shop scheduling problem with manpower resources representation was considered. The objective discussed here is the minimization of the makespan. Allocating manpower to the jobs is more complicated than allocating machines, as different jobs and operations require different manpower. This problem is strongly NP-hard. We proposed the constraint programming (CP) based approach to decision support in this environment. The most important features of CP are declarative problem modeling, allowing a clear separation between the problem statement (variables and constraints) and the resolution of the problem

CP-BASED DECISION SUPPORT PACKAGE FOR PRODUCTION FLOW PLANNING - AN SME PERSPECTIVE

Print
Solving complex, decision-making problems requires application of decision support systems. The best solving strategy can be defined for each particular problem. The strategy refers to a sequence solving elementary subproblems. The aim of the paper is to present the evaluating criterion to estimate the efficiency of searching strategies. The criterion proposed offers a possibility to estimate the time needed to solve a constraint satisfaction problem. An illustrative example is provided.

FUZZY MODEL FOR THE INFORMATION AND DECISION MAKING SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR THE CFM BRANCH COMPANY

Print
The aim of this work is to present the ways of improvement the management process in the CFM company, by developing and implementing the Management Information System (MIS). In the first chapter the characteristic of Car Fleet Management company is presented. The second chapter describes how MIS could support management of that type of company, as well as general and functional requirements of the computer application. Third chapter presents an example of methodology of solving selected decision-making problem using a fuzzy rule-based model.

OPTIMIZATION AS A TOOL FOR TIME REDUCTION IN SIMULATION PROJECTS

Print
This paper presents the optimization methods appropriate for discrete event simulations of manufacturing systems. The chosen optimization approach was applied in various simulation projects. Given example shows practically how can be utilize optimization in simulation. The paper presents the results of simulation and time reductions achieved through optimisation.

ANT ALGORITHMS APPLIED TO ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS DIAGNOSIS

Print
Main problems of using ant algorithms in diagnosis are presented in this article. A knowledge representation and a searching solution mechanism with help of ant algorithms were elaborated. Performed algorithm is shown by exemplary system diagnosing TV set.
