Print
Contemporary science and business regard controlling as the inseparable part of the modern management concept. The current scientific and practical knowledge of industrial engineering was used as a basis for Identification the main tasks of controlling management in an enterprise. The analysis of controlling tasks freąuency shows, that the cost calculation and the performance calculation belong among the most freąuent tasks, and that there is some kind of evaluation for all (production or non-production) areas in enterprises. Lean production is characterized by elimination of redundant, useless or partly necessary processes. Lean production is considered as the basis for the network enterprises and clusters. Individual enterprises are selected to clusters on the basis of rules of outsourcing.

Today the next development leads to building worldwide nets creating the product 's value. We can talk about the idea of clusters. Cluster is building the connections not only among the business subjects but also the other organizations and institutions. The main purpose of that is mutual effect. This article gives more details about the types, definitions and advantages of clusters. Building of clusters started in the Czech Republic in the Pilsen region as well and the feasibility study of the opportunity of clusters building was composed. The own methodology for formulating the feasibility study is described in this article as well.

SIMULATION IN FACTORY OPTIMISATION

Print
Many manufacturing systems must operate under resource constraints. Simulation can help to improve the operation of such manufacturing systems. This paper presents a practical approach how to conduct a simulation project. A Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) was chosen for the simulation. The targets for FMS improvement were given. A set of measures was proposed to meet the given targets. Design of Experiments (DoE) was used to minimise the number of simulation experiments. There were simulated and evaluated various measures and control strategies and their influence on the FMS characteristics. Rough cost analysis of each simulated variant was done. Futurę research targets are presented.

IMPROVEMENT OF PRODUCTION PROCESSES BY SEARCHING AND INCREASING OF THE PRODUCTION SYSTEM CONSTRAINTS WITH UTILIZATION OF THE MODELLING AND SIMULATION METHOD

Print
There is presented the practical application example of the theory of constraints, in the paper. In all enterprises from engineering industry, the main problem connected with realization of production orders are the constraint existing in every production system. Searching and increasing of the bottleneck (constraint) should be the first step in situation, when exist necessity to increase production. There are described principles and stages of the production system improvement, which are based on the mentioned above theory. In the paper, there is demonstrated that the Computer simulation is very useful aiding tool for finding constraints and facilitating the analysis of different proposed changes in production systems.

THE ERP CLASS SYSTEM OBJECTIVE ASSESSMENT METHOD

Print
Thispaperpresents ERP class system objective assessment method when using the neural systems GMDH basing on the Ivachnienko algorithm. An approach to ERPs evaluation aimed at their successful implementation into a class of the smali and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is considered. The set of performance indices supporting an ERP evaluation in the context of its implementation into a given SME is proposed. Conseąuently the decision model binding the selected indicators of effectiveness of SME implementation with the parameters of a given ERP system and the parameters of the company as such, which introduced this system is discussed.

SYSTEM OF PRODUCTION ORDER VERIFICATION IN APPLICATION TO SERYICE OF CUSTOMER

Print
In this paper the efficiency of the System of Production Order Verification in application to service of customer is examined. Its aim is to find out whether a given work order can be accepted to be processed in an enterprise and satisfy the customer’s reąuirements within constraints imposed by the enterprise configuration and the process of manufacturing of other products. The presented system is illustrated on an example.

AN APPROACH TO TIME PROJECT ORIENTED MANAGEMENT

The objective presented below is to answer the ąuestion: How to exploit resources to complete all projects in expected time in a multi-project ernironment? A solution to maximise the number of projects, which the company is able to implement concurrently is proposed by combining the Theory of Constraints and conditions guaranteeingproject due dates with constraint-based scheduling.

TOWARDS DEDICATED DECISION SUPPORT TOOLS: CLP-BASED APPROACH

Print
Constraint programming (CP) is an emergent software technology for declarative description and effective solving of large combinatorial problems especially in areas of integrated production planning. In that context, the CP can be considered as a well-suited framework for development of decision making software supporting smali and medium size enterprises in the course of Production Process Planning (PPP). The problem considered regards of finding of computationally effective approach aimed at scheduling of a new project subject to constraints imposed by a multi-project environment. In other words, we are looking for an answer whether a given production order specified by its cost and completion time can be accepted in a given manufacturing system specified by available production capability, i.e., the time-constrained resources availability. The problem belongs to a class of multi-mode case project scheduling problems, where the problem of finding a feasible solution is NP-complete. The aim of the paper is to present the CP modeling framework as well as to illustrate its application to decision making in the case of a new production order evaluation. So, the contribution emphasizes benefits derived from CP-based DSS and focuses on constraint satisfaction driven decision-making rather than on an optimal solution searching.

TOWARDS CLP-BASED TASK-ORIENTED DSS FOR SME

Print
Decision making supported by task-oriented software tools plays a pivotal role in a modern enterprises. That is because commercially available ERP systems are not able to respond in an interactive on-line/real-time mode. It means a new generation of DSS that enable a fast prototyping of production flows in multiproject environment as well as an integrated approach to a layout planning, production routing, batch-sizing and scheduling problems is needed. In that context, the constraint logie programming techniąues allowing declarative representation of a decision making problem provide a quite attractive alternative. So, some issues regarding modelling of decision making and searching strategies development are discussed in the contribution. The results obtained are implemented in a software package supporting production flow planning in the SMEs. Illustrative example of the ILOG-based software application is provided.

CP APPROACH TO DESIGN OF STEADY-STATE FLOW OF REPETITIYE MANUFACTURING PROCESSES IN SME

Print
Concurrent execution of work orders in the smali and medium size enterprises (SME) imposes a necessity to consider many control problems concerning systems of repetitive concurrent manufacturing processes using common resources in mutual exclusion. In many cases a production system with a given structure of the processes resource reąuests can be seen as composed of subsystems with n cyclic processes sharing one resource. For given sets of possible values of the processes operation execution times a problem of finding schedules guaranteeing that no process waits for access to the common resources is considered. In particular for the assigned times of the operations execution a subproblem of finding all possible starting times of work orders execution for which waiting-free schedules exist has been formulated as a constraint programming (CP) problem. The starting times derived can be used as an alternative starting times of work orders execution in case of their possible delays. A State space of the problem ’s solutions has been reduced using constraints based on the necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of a waiting-free n-process steady-state schedule. An illustrative example of Mozart-based software application to the solution of constraint logie programming problem considered has been presented.
